Long delayed byelection goes Lib Dem

The Liberal Democrats won the Holmewood and Heath byelection to North East Derbyshire district council held yesterday, eight months after the seat had been vacated by the death of the incumbent Labour councillor Terry Fisher. The other byelection saw the Conservatives hold on to Old Gore ward, Herefordshire council.
